Me: "I love you."
Lily: "I love you more."
Lily: "I love you more."
Me: "I am about to flip out..."
Lily: "No! No, don't do flips in the car; do flips on the carpet!"
Me: Here are your choices for what to wear today: A, B, or C (assigned to different shirts).
Lily: No! (runs to dresser and grabs pajamas) I want D!
Lily: Mama will open the door and Circle Elf will fly out and go see Santa. Circle Elf will tell Santa to give Lily presents! In Lily's stocking!
Me: Lily, when is your birthday?
Lily: I will be 3 in March (and she starts physically marching!Haha!)
Me (yelling in the kitchen...sometimes the no nap thing sends me over the edge. It was a bad moment. Don't judge): I can't do this!!!!!!!
Lily (3 seconds later, flinging herself onto her pink chair): I can't do this!!!!!!!
*Yes, I felt awful and we made cookies immediately after. All better.*
Me: Hang on, Lily. I have to clean the potty...then I will come play.
Lily: Oh, thank you for cleaning my potty, Mama!
*She is so grateful and says thank you for everything!*
Me: Mama came right back to get you, baby.
Lily (after being left for the lunch thing at her school, for the first time): I was so sad. Mama not come to get Yilly. Mama run errands? Mama leave Lily? Mama not come back. Lily cried and sit on teachers' laps and was so sad. Mama not come back.
*It is literally December, and this is the first time she has stayed past 11:55- the lunch thing is optional/costs more- and this is how she reacted when I picked her up. She is crazy. BUT she and her little tear streaked face got lots of special attention. And we went to 3 parks this afternoon to make up for it.*
Lily (In the backseat, very matter of factly): I am the best thing, ever.
*I constantly tell her that she is the best thing, ever. Kinda makes up for the no-nap meltdown comment*
Me:(thinking out loud, when we were in the throes of decision making) Lily, where should we live?!?
Lily (without missing a beat): Target.
*that's my girl*
They are all my favorite. Except for the lunch one.I will not say it will get better because it probably won't. Just say screw it all & move to Target.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Melissa, when I was reading them, I thought this one is to cute, then the next..School was sad, but.... No, I will not even say it. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite though, oh I can't decide... she is just to cute.
When Holly was Lilly's age, you would ask her when her birthday was and she would say "Marchin 5th".
ReplyDeleteyou should totally live at target. my fave is the "don't do flips in the car!" love
ReplyDeleteBrilliant girl. I have actually contemplated living in Target and Costco myself. If you guys move in, let me know. I'll come visit a ton.
ReplyDeleteIf you can find a way to live in Target I'm coming to visit no matter how pregnant I am! Lily is hilarious! I also love the pajama (D)!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Stellaisms.
Hilarious. I think she may be brilliant. I have always wanted to live in Target, or the mall. Ever since I read From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.
ReplyDeleteI just love her! She really is brilliant! :)
