I found this adorable heart Memory game online; Lily loves it! (I printed mine on Cardstock): Printable Valentine Memory Game
Miller Park, by our house, is AMAZING. It has rocks, woods, streams, bridges, and TWO playgrounds right next to each other. We walk there a few times a week. Lily is usually wearing as much pink as possible. Valentine's Day is her kind of holiday.
More cute block letters. I STILL have wood leftover from the one piece of $2 wood I bought this summer for the other letters. Plus, when you move as often as we do, you always have to be thinking about "how easy will this be to pack and move in a few months"?
I made a heart door hanger out of burlap! It is okayish in person but I think I can do better next time. It literally cost less than $4 (bought the burlap at Jo-Anne's), because I just stuffed it with newspaper.
New favorite idea, EVER. Crepe paper streamers, with a twist. One of my playgroup friends did this for her son's birthday, and I am trying to figure out how to incorporate it into my daily life. It is magical in person, y'all, I am serious. And so easy, cheap, etc... You just cut slits in the streamer, alternating sides. Hang with tape. Done.

Red and white ball-things I got on after Christmas clearance.
A girl getting herself some Pink Lemonade (I hate Walmart, but I did find this 89 cent sugar-free pink lemonade there. I literally only go there once a year).
I love when people tell me how lucky I am to have a playroom to "contain the mess". Don't get me wrong, the playroom is AMAZING, but with two-year olds, there is no containing. This was one room after playgroup at our house. The playroom was a nightmare, and I could not get a picture that did its mess justice. *My friends did offer to help clean, but I am OCD and would just rather do it myself. With Lily, who loves to clean. :)

Making cookies. Perched dangerously on a ladder. She's fine.

Crafting. Her favorite.

This dress was free ($5 shipping), because I had a random credit for signing up for a deal site. The getting-dressed battle is an every day fight, but she will at least leave on this dress, because it is pink and has "L-I-L-Y."
*After looking back over this post, I would like to add that our real life is not as perfect as our blog life. Haha. I mean, my life is pretty freaking awesome, but it isn't just all crafts and making cookies. (Facebook and Blogs are just unfair, inaccurate representations, usually). There are definitely tantrums, anxiety, piles of laundry, fights over getting dressed, exhaustion, money stress, etc... BUT, isn't life a little better with some crepe paper hanging over the chaos and yelling?*
Your house is so festive. Love the girl on the ladder, of course she is fine.
ReplyDeleteYou have always been so creative..The house looks great. That park looks awesome. love you
ReplyDeleteCrate paper makes ALL negative in the house go away!!!!!! Every. time. ;)
ReplyDeleteI hadn't THOUGHT to buy Christmas clearance and use certain colors for other holidays (hello St. Patrick's day!!!) Great idea.
I love that Lily loves crafting! I am also loving the Crepe paper streamers! I would have never thought of that. So fun! If I didn't think that my house would still be decorated with Valentine's decorations in the summer I would totally do that. Something tells me I probably should be concentrating on decorating for a new baby instead, ha!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I am TOTALLY jealous of the awesome park!
i didn't see the blue jacket at all in this post!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love how on your blog you are apologizing for being positive and in person you apologize for being negative. Your life is awesome, positive and negative just happens to us all. I love that LILY GIRL!!!
