This is my new favorite thing in my house! I just want to look at it, pet it, grin, walk away so I can come back and gaze at it longer. It's so much cuter in real life!
Apparently, I have lived in my "new" house for almost 7 months, which means it is time to actually hang something on the walls. Every time we moved in the past, I would go to Home Goods or Target, buy a few random things on clearance, and hang them up along with the things (previous clearance items) I had packed from the last house. I was completely uninspired and unconcerned, because I knew we would just be moving, again. I realize I sound incredibly LAZY, because we DID live in Johnson City for 4 years AND Birmingham for 4 years. HOWEVER, in my defense, the house during medical school was pretty impossible. In addition to its spaciousness (600 square feet, ONE drawer), we also had Hughes' bike hanging IN THE KITCHEN right above the green kitchen table that we got from Fred's!! There was no place else to keep it! I had forgotten about that precious piece of our past until I glanced at the bike on the GARAGE wall yesterday. I was actually a little nostalgic seeing it in an expected place and not as decoration inside the house.
So, I have never really put forth much effort into decorating. ;)
Luckily, our house now is gorgeous, so I really haven't had to make any decisions or do much in terms of decoration. Style- with clothes and my house- is just not a priority. I really wish it was, though.
I bought the frame for $6 at Michaels- they had several different sizes. I love it, because it is so lightweight! I painted it this turquoisey-aqua color that I love. Painting it was not as simple as I planned; there are lots of tiny grooves and holes.
I used jewelry wire and hot glued 3 pieces of it to the back.
I even painted some of the mini clothespins! They are from Michaels, too!
I ordered the ADORABLE little instagram prints from http://printstagr.am. They are the whole reason I love this frame so much! I literally gasped when I opened the envelope. Prinstagram has several different instagram products (next time I am buying the stickers!). I ordered the mini squares- they are 2.5x2.5
I obviously had some left over, but I love how easy it will be to change out the pictures!
Mini things are always adorable and festive; these little pictures will make you happy! You just log into your instagram account and choose the ones you want. Easy.
Another fun instagram idea! Postagram! It is a free app. You log into your instagram account, and you can send postcards to people! SO CUTE. They are only 99 cents each, too. Plus, the little picture pops out, so the receiver can pop out the picture and keep it. Super Fast.
At Halloween, I made an orange bunting banner to hang on our mantle, and I hung pictures from past Halloweens/Thanksgiving on it. I decided we needed one for Valentine's Day as well. I love pictures, but I hate clutter, so I don't want tabletop frames all over my house. I also like the idea of changing out which pictures are displayed so that I don't have the same ten in my house all of the time. In the Fall, I used Fall-ish pictures, but this time I just chose pictures I love...which is cheating because every picture is loved, but whatever. Lily and I cut out hearts and hung them on the fireplace.
I ordered these instagram pictures from another app: Printicular. It is SO easy and fun!!! It prints 4x4 instagram prints directly to whichever Walgreens you choose...in an hour! Once again, log into your instagram account, choose your pictures. Then, enter code: PARTNER25 to save 25%, choose which Walgreens you want, and go pick them up! I definitely jumped up and down just a tiny bit in the store when I first saw my prints.
Lily made a banner as well. Daddy, Dixie, Lily, Mama. Hers is the best.
They are really adorable. And, it is exciting to actually DO something with my instagram photos instead of just store them on my phone.
Last thing...and it is free!
There is a website called: http://printsgram.com, and you can create instagram collages, photo blocks, and stickers! There is an option to order them once you have created, obviously, but it saves as a PDF to your computer, too! I made the A4 poster and printed it out on 8x10 photo paper. It did print out with the logo on the bottom, so I had to cut it and put the red cardstock as the background.
I messed up a few times while printing, but I took the ones that did print and cut them out- tiny, free instagram prints! This size will be so perfect for Reese's baby book!
I love instagram!

I love it all. I will be copying some of these ideas .
ReplyDeleteI love all of this. I am so ready for March when I can get rid of my "stupid" phone and get an iPhone so that I can take part in the whole magicalness of instagram.
